To facilitate accurate process selection and clarify the application boundaries of injection molding, the following categories are not recommended for injection molding:
1)Extra-thick, large one-piece solid plastic parts (prone to sink marks, bubbles and deformation)
2)Ultra-thin, soft non-skeleton film products (blown film process is more suitable instead of injection molding)
3)Simple long sheets and rods (extrusion process recommended)
4)Low-volume, frequently modified large custom parts (CNC machining is preferred)
Nearly all plastic products requiring mass production, uniform dimensions, complex structures and high appearance standards can be manufactured by injection molding. Compared with machining, extrusion, blown film and other processes, the biggest merit of injection molding lies in one-time forming, no secondary polishing, low mass production cost and great structural flexibility, covering civil, industrial, medical, automotive and electronic sectors.
